coordinators and their responsibilities
Officials: One coordinator
- For home meets coordinates the
starter/referee, turn, and stroke judges.
- Away meets coordinates the stroke and
turn judges.
Statistics: One coordinator
- Receives the meet statistics and
prepares "Best Time" and "City Time" awards. Time
commitment is approx. 1to 1 ½ hours per meet.
- Updates the pool record board outside
the men's locker room at seasons end.
Scoring: One coordinator
- This position requires persons with
computer knowledge.
- Scoring coordinator needs to be present
at least one hour prior to the start of the meet, and doesn't leave
until well after the meet ends. This applies to home meets only. With
two coordinators, one can handle the pre-meet issues and work the
meet, and the other can handle post-meet issues and also work the
meet.
- The opposing team provides 2 scorers,
therefore a total of 4 scorers would be present at each home meet.
Sponsors
- Obtains sponsors and ensures that
banners are displayed accordingly.
Historian
- Takes pictures and videos throughout the
season. Provides the video for banquet entertainment.
Season Registrar: Two Coordinators
- Once assignments are finalized, season
registrars take over in any changes and switches made by workers.
- They must arrive 11/2 hours early for
each meet (home and away) to facilitate worker check-in and to ensure
that all areas are covered.
- At all meets will instruct new parents
as to their assignments and who to report to.
- At all meets will act as a relief timer
after registrar duties are completed.
Concessions: Six Coordinators
- Coordinators will be responsible for the
purchase and sale of food (including candy) at all home meets.
- Two of the six coordinators will work
each home meet (for a total of only two meets) along with the
regularly scheduled workers.
- Set-up/clean-up persons will assist with
the pre and post meet duties.
- Responsible for keeping track of soda
donations.
- Responsible for sale of beverage at home
meets.
- Providing water/candy to meet volunteers
throughout the meet.
- Providing water/cups for swimmers in the
bullpen.
Social: Three Coordinators
- Responsible for coordinating the
following events: Adult social, kids social, and the banquet.
- One coordinator will be responsible for
each major event. Coordinators will be assigned by workers assigned to
help.
City/Classic Coordinators
- Responsible for scheduling volunteers
for worker assignments.
- Coordinates with Park District Rep. on
other responsibilities.
- Volunteering for city/classic
coordinator would fulfill all but two of the regular worker
assignments for the season (i.e. if each family is required to work 6
meets, the city/classic coordinator would work 2 in addition to their
championship meet.)
Awards: One Coordinator
- Responsible for ordering ribbons and
maintaining ribbon inventory.
- Responsible for ordering trophies and
awards for city/classic meets.
- Responsible for the distribution of
ribbons.
Bullpen: Two Coordinators
- Responsible for lining the children for
their respective races.
Newsletter: One Coordinator
- Sets up and maintains e-mail
distribution list of team families.
- Publishes and distributes newsletter.
- Coordinates team picture day.
- Corresponds with local newspaper results
of the meets.
